Cobol (PH - Do External) Migration from HP3000 to HPUX

We did the same migration in 1993/4.  We had a contractor do that part of
the migration and my recollection was that they described it as not being
straight-forward.  The build of the QKDRIVER required building of some C
routines.

However, one has to bear in mind that we didn't migrate to "pure" Unix.  We
had the same contractor actually build an MPE shell that sits on top of our
Unix, so some of the complexity may be due to that.  So, our experience may
not be representative.

Hello Fellow Listers;

We are migrating some "Do External" code from Cobol on HP3000 to 
MicroFocus on HP-UX.

Does anyone have any advice/experience on this type of migration?  Any 
issues that may present a problem or was the migration fairly simple?

I haven't started this project yet; I'm just gathering information right 
now.
