Rounding question

I believe John is thinking of the (in)famous 6.09, rather than 6.07.
6.07 was actually a pretty solid release for the IBM AS/400. I remember
beta testing it with a customer in London. It actually included a new
arithmetic expression engine that didn't convert everything to floating
point if it could avoid it. Instead it kept the operands in their
original format so long as that was compatible with the requested
operation. So integer multiplied by integer was kept as an integer
operation, while packed decimal divided by float would convert to float.
As for 6.09...well the less said about that the better ;)
Best regards,
Conrad

If 6.00 on VAX was as great as 6.07 on MPE was then I can completely
understand. This was not one of Cognos' stellar releases :-) And us
dinosaurs won't forget or let Cognos forget either.
