QTP Error - Bracketed options are not enclosed in one of (),{}, [], or <>.

It isn't that we weren't listening. I think that myself and blue were
clarifying points from earlier emails, even if by this time the points were
irrelevant :)

My money is now on the 'reverse the order of the comparison' option by Peter
(and Chris). I seem to recall finding this to be necessary when a function
has been applied to a field/column; its just that its less obvious that the
use of subscripts is in fact the application of a function.

Regards, Joe.

Seems like nobody is listening!

The correct syntax for specifying "conditional compile words" (remember them
anybody?) when you run a PowerHouse component is something like
CC=(condcompword1, condcompword2, and3, whatever). Please note the brackets
-- well, actually parentheses in this case. But both square brackets "[]"
and brace brackets "{}" are also valid syntax.

If you leave out the brackets you get a message about leaving out the
brackets. Doh! (as Homer would say).

It has nothing to do with the select statement and everything to do with the
way Qtp was started.

Confirmation from Stefan would be appreciated.

Regards,
JWP

Sorry blue, I misunderstood your comment.

I agree with you that its probably that PH knows that the syntax () is not
valid with RDB items, coz you can't have arrays with RDBs
