Cold temperatures

We had some problems with qtp transactions (RDB on VMS) with version
8.30:

'SET FILE xxx OPEN READ' does not create a read only transaction

This affected our locking strategy so we have not upgraded. Not sure if
this was going to be addressed for future versions or was classed as
functionality change.

Regards,
Gavin.

Is now a bad time to mention that it's 37C (or about 98F) here in
Australia?

Powerhouse content - We're on the verge of upgrading from 7.10.G1 under
VMS to 8.40D. Any known gotchas?

you're talking -35 it hardly matters if it's F or C; -40 is the same in
either scale.

feeling sorry for me, this weekend's forecast is for a HIGH of -35! I'm
sure grateful for the wood heater at times like that.

Americans (USA) in chat rooms and tell them stories like that ... of how
he had to hook up the dog sleigh and travel down to Winnipeg (750 km!)
to purchase a car! You wouldn't believe the stories he could get away
with!

almost need ski pants, otherwise your bum gets numb as all of the heat
gets sucked out of it!

Fahrenheit right? Good thing too, our igloos here in Burlington are
melting. We could use the cold and snow to build them back up. Had to
equip the dog sled with wheels last week for the lack of snow ;-)
