WinExec command question

when you click on the quiz icon from the workbench, and then select your
files that quiz is to report on, and then build the quiz object from the
source file you just created, and then ,finally, when you execute that quiz
object - that is the 'report viewer'.
You mentioned before that you have only a remote buildprofile, so quiz must
be executing on the server; you can confirm this by looking for an executing
quiz process in the task manager window on the server.
I can't remember the exact syntax to attach the running of the report to a
button. But the following steps will create a simple menu screen in which
you will be able to see the syntax required,
Right click in the right pane
Select insert screen
Select menu screen
Select reports
Scroll to the report you just created
Build the screen and click the button.
Regards, Joe.

Dear Joe, Bob,
Because so far I couldn't find anything about Quiz Report Viewer, I'm trying
to stream the quiz output to a text file and open the text file via cmdExec
command.
I really don't understand how to find this Report Viewer. I cannot see
anything about Report Viewer neither in Cognos knowebase nor in Axiant Help.
Where can I find some documentation about it?
Regards,
SYED.

given that the quiz report viewer knows where to send the output from a quiz
call, (which is executing on the server) presumably it would be possible for
the development chappies in Canada to program the server to send a signal
back to the client to activate the Winexec command.

I don't believe you can control the client from the server in that way.

the problem with that approach is that with thin clients, the run
command executes on the server, whereas the Winexec executes on the
client.
How can you procedurally process a Winexec command to run on the client
?

WinExec is an Axiant client operation, typically tied to a button or
menu entry. If you want to run a Windows app or command from a
procedure, use RUN COMMAND.
