how about letting quick do the update in the standard way and then run your
SQL - as an update rather than an insert - in the postupdate procedure.

Subject: Record status in quick - resetting

Hello

Does anyone know how to 'fool' quick into thinking that a record has been
written away (put) when it hasn't. I have a program that has a primary file
- various fields are changed on the screen by the user. Then for various
reasons, I use embedded sql to write the record away - NOT Powerhouse. I
don't want the user to get the message "Date changed but not updated". How
do I reset the alteredrecord status ? I've tried doing a "get" of the
record again which resets the status but the values in the file buffer are 0
- even though the record does exist (I'm in find mode). I want to leave the
file as primary to preserve the screen functionality.

Any ideas would be great as I'm probably going to need to this fairly often.
