PH Interbase Licensing Errors

I recall that there was a generic license key ( probably unlimited user
access ) that was issued to users when interbase support was 'matured'. Are
you using that key value, or are you using an original pre-matured key ? I
would guess that Cognos have a record of those details and someone ( Bob,
Conrad) might send them to you.

One other possibility, is it possible that your license key was limited to
access for around 500 users ?

Also, could it be that access is related to numbers of Decnet links ?

Regards, Joe.

Subject: PH Interbase Licensing Errors

Environment:

ES45s
VMS7.3-2
ph 7.10g
Interbase 3.3J

We just brought up a new cluster, 1 of 6 we are doing. This is the second.
First went off without a hitch.
This one intermittently produces Interbase licensing errors, as if it cannot
find isclicense.dat.
"You are not authorized to use interbase on this node... waiting 1
second...."

When it happens, 500 plus other users are happily computing away... Sporadic

It has stopped occurring for about 4 days now, but we expect it to return at
any moment.
I can't figure it out. DBs are fine, just rebuilt. No environment change
expect the new ES45, and yet
we migrated another region from the 4100 to another ES45 cluster, same
system disk, kits etc...

I know the environment is completely unsupported so no point even discussing
this with Cognos.

Any ideas ?
