Creation of fdl file

Yes there is - on VMS. Enter "PHDFM FDL"
then the RMS filename when prompted. It generates an empty data file and an
.FDL file.

IIRC (it's been some years since I used VMS)...

There is no way to get PH to generate the .FDL, but running the command 
$ analyze/rms/fdl 
on the created data file will generate the required .FDL.

      I am using powerhouse version 7.10.g3 and Data files created in the 
dictionary do not automatically generate .FDL files . I need to at least 
create an FDL file for a data file I need to use now.

a) Can any one give me a command line to accomplish this for one file.
b) Is there a way to get the Dictionary to automatically generate an FDL 
file for any Data file I create
