Migrating to Windows

If you were to recompile the PowerHouse 7.39 compilers and interpreters
( i.e. PDL, QDESIGN, QTP, QUIZ, QUICK etc ) on the Window Server I would see
that MPUX
would be a great advantage because you could bring over the file system.
Then an FCOPY
or an MPE SORT would make sense. Within the confines of 8.41 or 8.43 not
much from
MPE is useful. You do not want to maintain a file by doing DO EXTERNAL calls
i.e. DO EXTERNAL "HPFOPEN", DO EXTERNAL "FREAD", DO EXTERNAL "FUPDATE" etc.
If you can call a command from DOS you can call it from QUICK 8.41.
i.e. you can say RUN COMMAND "LISTF A@,2 > AFILE" what does that mean on the
WINDOWS box
I would rather say RUN COMMAND "DIR A*.*> AFILE"
