Here's an article that discusses the issues from a COBOL point of view
"Understanding the Technical Barriers of Retargeting ISAM to RDBMS"
http://www.anubex.com/anugenio!technicalbarriers1.asp. It has some of the
information you're interested in. However, there could be some special ones
given that you are using Powerhouse. For example, switching to Oracle could
present a challenge if you use compound items such as redefines or arrays.
Powerhouse uses a native SQL interface and RDBMS's do not believe in
compound items.
It could get interesting.

Subject: Help with moving CISAM on IBM AIX to Oracle for Windows
Dear all, I would appreciate some pointers on where to start reading to
gain some knowledge before moving CISAM data files from IBM AIX to
Oracle for Windows. We will keep the program files on AIX for now.
Thanks.
Viet.
