I agree up to a point; but in this particular case, I have worked on Axiant
calls since 1999 which is the date of the web page advocating registry
editing, all the way up to Sept 2003.
In all that time, as mentioned earlier, I have not known of anyone having to
follow this route, and I think its fair to want to weight someone against
taking this action without looking at other possibilities.
No doubt the next message we get will inform us that the registry approach
solved the problem; but it won't be the first time I got it wrong, nor the
last :)
Another test might be to check that the system/user path variable references
the correct sqlany folders; and go through the odbc dsn configuration page
checking for errors.

Granted same symptoms does not equal same cause. It is usually easy apply
the remedies for the known causes. If thet work great. If not more
investigation
is required.
