Hi Blue,
I have added in line comments below, all of the comments were accurate when
I last worked with both Axiant and PH on NT, but this is over a year ago. In
cases where our opinions differ, I can only suggest that you try the
suggestions :)

Subject: RE: Can't access SQL Server with Qdesign
> Temp keys look ok, presumably they let you use PH to
access screens etc against other/any data ?
Blue:Only data I have is in SQL Server.
Joe: I would create an indexed file (xbase or disam) then check that I could
enter and find data in quick, which would confirm the temp keys are ok.
> Presumably you are accessing via odbc, so do you
have odbc entries in both user DSN and system DSN
levels ?
Blue:Only user DSN as Axiant ignores system DSNs.
Joe: in my experience (which is over a year old now ) both user DSN and
System DSN level entries were needed, including a reboot in order to
activate new DSNs
> Can you see the database when you type 'show
databases detail' in qshow ?
Blue:Get error message and Qshow aborts.
Joe: to be honest ( and in my experience) there were always errors in qshow
when viewing detals of SQLserver databases, but despite that Qdesign/quick
quiz and qtp all worked ok regardless
> Also, when using ph are you accessing the same
dictionary that Axiant uses, or have you created a
new one from your own syntax ?
Blue:PDL file was created from Axiant.
