"There comes a time when for every addition of knowledge you
forget something that you knew before"...

I think I've come to that time. I've been a member of this
list from the beginning, and for a time an active
contributor. I've come to value the advice and wisdom and
friendship of the PowerHouse community, in person on
courses, at conferences and at a distance.
Alas, I haven't used PowerHouse for several years now,
having moved on from being a 4GL evangelist to being a minor
academic in a small institution way down in Nelson, New
Zealand. It's time I stopped lurking, but I couldn't let go
without this farewell.

I started with Quiz 1.04 from Quasar Systems (way back in
1979?). I remember the twins (Quiz and Quick). I've got a
video of Bob Deskin teaching one of the original Advanced
PowerHouse courses - its good to see that some of the people
are still around. I became a PowerHouse instructor myself,
and am pleased to see some of my erstwhile pupils still
contributing to the list (and others I know are still
lurking). But I've got to go. Too many other things to try
and remember, hence the quote at the beginning (from
Sherlock Holmes).

Thanks to Cognos and the PowerHouse community for a great
journey.
