First, I want to take a moment to appreciate our UK consituents who reminded me of the size and nature of the programming mind and how serious we must always remain within the world of code and this forum. The simple power of 2000+ techies is a wonderful thing. I also want to take a moment to thank those of you who know what a heart is and appreciate your kind replies.

Now, if anyone else is working with data compliance issues regarding 21CFR11 for Pharma, or the insurance/financial industry related laws recently passed, I would appreciate your approach to data archive and retrieval.

We need a universal storage/retreival mechanism validated by the government and
capable of outlasting all current versions of popular databases. The data would have to be stored and guaranteed uncorruptible and be able to be moved into any older version of a database or any new version of a database, regardless of type or vendor.

We need a meta-layer to protect and control access to all data objects and filter usage and access by user, not just group. It would need to be XMI compliant and capable of interacting with popular tool suites for development and for general data access tools and query engines.
