QTP stdin redirection within jobstream

John,

We're on a Unix box, so I'm not going to speak to the explicit problem.
What I'm going to suggest is that you investigate using operating system
variables. I believe that the later versions of MPE iX are very Unix-like
and have operating system variables. I know that when we moved from MPE to
Unix we tried to keep the parameter file style of input, similar to what
you're trying to do, but found that OS variables worked FAR better.

Guy Werry.

Subject: QTP stdin redirection within jobstream

Listers:

I'm trying to do something (in my way of thinking) simple: build a Msg file
and use it to pass date, and string of customer numbers parms to an
interactive type QTP routine. Works fine in interactive mode but in
Jobstream, prompts for the date and then quits process 'no records will be
selected' at the Choose statement. Powerhouse 8.19C2, MPE/iX 7.5,
Image/3000, ...
syntax: qtp auto=xxx.yyy < parmfil

parmfil is a std MPE 8FB Msg file...

I've tried stdin=parmfil but the obscure syntax escapes me.

Why does it work OK in interactive but fail in Job, eh? Thanks!
