Axiant is a great tool, once you get the hang of the way it works you're guy
will love it. As he will be a full time developer I think he will pick it up
very quickly.

Hi,

Our company has an in-house application running on Powerhouse 4GL since mid
90's. The system is quite stable and almost bug free.

The only problem is as you all know HP is putting the HP3000 obsolete by
2006.

We are considering using Cognos Axiant 4GL to migrate the application to
Windows/SQL environment. We'll also use Axiant as the development tool too.

We are in the planning phase and unfortunately in our country, Saudi Arabia,
there are no available resources in this arena. We've to do ourselves
through training our Powerhouse programmer on the Axiant tool.

Would highly appreciate if you share your experience in such migration
projects. Do and Don'ts, how to estimate the efforts needed, other s/w tools
that might be useful, etc are very welcomed.
