Thanks Harold - that was it!
Now I'm confused - we've never had a QKDRIVER logical set up in any of our
environments - Development, Release or Production. The location of the
driver is specified in the qkgo file - that has always worked until now.
Martyn

Make sure your QKDRIVER logical has been setup and is pointing to your
qkdriver.phexe.

ie:  show log qkdriver
"QKDRIVER" = "SFAS_3GC:QKDRIVER.PHEXE" (LNM$PROCESS_TABLE)

Hello,
I can't get the "Do external" verb to work anymore! To try to sort this I've
boiled it down to the simplest case of a menu screen setting a variable, and
a "do external" of a Basic program that changes the variable. On exiting the
screen I get the message "A valid driver name cannot be found.", and by
stepping through in debug I can see that the variable hasn't changed.
I placed the object code into the object library with the command -
$LIB/REPL/LOG TRAX_SUBS.OLB TRAX_DUMMY
and rebuilt the qkdriver file with the command -
$ buildexternal/noshare @trax_subs trax_subs/lib,pen$exe:pen_subs/lib,-
sys$library:sql$user70/lib, qkdriver_psect/opt qkdriver

I have added trax_dummy to the Trax_subs.dat list and to the qkdriver_psect
file. The qkgo file is definitely pointing at this qkdriver. Existing
externals are working fine. I can't see what has changed. Can anyone see
what I'm missing or what might cause this? All suggestions welcome.
