David,

Thanks for the explanation and, even more so, thanks for re-activating
the list!

Now for all those saved-up questions we want to ask the group...

Subject:	[Administravia] The list has moved to a new home

First of all, my apologies for the list being unavailable for so long.
On November 11th, 2003, I was forced to resign from my position at
Southwestern Adventist University (swau.edu) where the list has been
hosted for numerous years. On November 20th, the lists.swau.edu server
was taken offline by the current SWAU IT staff because of a network
reorganization. Unfortunately for the list, that network reorganization

was a rather extensive project which has still yet to be fully
completed. Because of the workload of the IT staff, the list server
remained offline until a couple of weeks ago when another machine was
brought online with the name lists.swau.edu. Unfortunately, at the
time, they were having trouble finding the harddrive for the original
lists.swau.edu server, so the powerh-l@lists.swau.edu list was recreated

on the new system, but without the subscriber list. The old server
harddrive has since been located and the subscriber list recovered, but
after consultations with Southwestern's IT staff, now was a good time to

move the list as it was considered a likely possibility in the near term

future due to their current and anticipated workload.

Thus, now, the list has been moved to a new host: lists.sowder.com The
subscriber list has been automatically moved to the new server, so you
should not need to do anything with your subscription except update
address books and any junk mail filters. The list archive has been
moved the the new server as well. In all your list information, simply
change lists.swau.edu to lists.sowder.com. The rest of those addresses
and URLs will otherwise be identical.

The list owner/administrator is still the same person it has been for
years. I hope most of you think that is a good thing. I again
apologize for the long list outage. Unfortunately, it was mostly beyond

my control.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, just let me know.

Now back to your again regularly scheduled Powerhouse discussion.
