Subject: Quiz Extract
Hi,
I am new to this list. I just started using Quiz and have some questions.
We have our files located on Disk 0 which has limited space. I am working on
extracts that retrieve quite a bit of data and ideally we want to redirect
the output to disk 1. I have been able to do so with the subfile but not
with the textfile. I tried the following:
SET REPORT DEVICE DISC NAME DKF1:[DW]DWDTL
However, I then noticed in the Cognos book I have that you cannot specify a
disk name with the SET REPORT statement. So we started suppressing the text
file and decided to use the subfile. That has its own set of problems such
as not being able to use a PICTURE format, not being able to use the count
function and more.
Ultimately we would like to extract data on a nightly basis and dump it into
a Progress data warehouse. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Kristina
