Powerhouse 8.40.D on VMS vs 8.43.C on Solaris

if there are two database instances, one on each of the VMS and UNIX
servers, it may be worth mapping a small pdl file to look at the UNIX
database and compile a problem screen against it form the VMS platform. This
would at least indicate if the issue is due to the Oracle setup or the PH
setup.

If the new screen works it might be the case that there is a difference in
the setup of the two instances, you could then compare Oracle INIT files
etc. Otherwise you will have to wait for a fix from Cognos - assuming it's
due to a bug.

It's unusual to use a get to a passed record buffer - presumably this is to
make the most of a buffer when you have used all 31 opens used. Normally,
ghost screens would be used to get details and pass them back, but I note
your comment that there is two much to recode.

Regards, Joe.

We are able to read/write to this table in all other programs. We have
problems only on GET on RECEIVED FILE.

It looks like QDESIGN is having a problem reading the metadata.
In Qshow try to display the record layout of the table.
I think the syntax is
show record <tablename> in <dbname> detail
Make sure the correct OWNER is specified or NOOWNER is chosen.
