Most objects worked for us at The Budd Company. No
issues. But, we did not recompile first time out as an
experiment to see if the upgrade helped or hurt our in
place Cognos objects. No effect, except of course a
few glitches, with some in memory parms, recompiled
and then tested, prior to release. Smart enough. No
harm.
At a few OTHER clients, we learned that each upgrade
offered unique glitches. We determined that sometimes
you just have to let people that are determined to be
"right", hit the wall. It's always fun, citing the
email, requiring us to not touch anything. Of course
the users were a little pissed off wondering why IT is
so stupid and doesn't plan for such things. Don't they
ever test their software? Who's in control over there?
You get the picture.
