The REMOTE_USER environment variable is set by the Web Server, not by PH
Web. It is the username entered in the authentication prompt. It is probably
not available directly to PH Web. However, the authenticated user name is
available in the WEBLOGONID function, assuming that the user was
authenticated. Take a look at the security chapter of the PH Web manual.
Some versions say LOGONID but that is incorrect. The function is WEBLOGONID.

Subject: REMOTE_USER in PHWeb
Hi all,
We use the web server authentication method to check the login of our users
on a small intranet.
Is it possible to access the user_id from the authentication in a qdesign
screen to perform some tests.
In the documentation there talking about REMOTE_USER environment variable,
but how to get it ?
Note: the Powerhouse Web-tool runs on a NT 4 machine with IIS 3.
Thanks,
Marc
