since powerhouse is about to become abandonware, wouldn't a better topic of discussion be its re-engineering as open source for linux/*bsd?

Fellow listers!
I seem like we all agree that PH is dying. Maybe we should change the
focus for this list now?  Instead of helping each other understanding PH
(and the reasons for it's sentence of death), maybe we should help each
other migrating from PH.  Maybe we have some experience that will give
us some advantage, moving back from 4GL to 3GL tools (where the "nerd
programmers" rules, those who never have seen a customer / end user in
the eyes).

Is it anything in the PH concept that is usable in the .NET or Java/J2EE
world? regards
