More history. QUIZ was around before 1979 but that was the year that Quasar
started seriously selling it as QUIZ 1.02. 1981 saw QUICK released and 1982
saw QTP. The name PowerHouse was introduced in 1982 to combine the family of
QUIZ, QUICK, QTP, and QDD (the dictionary). Quasar changed their name to
Cognos in 1983. And in case anyone cares, I was introduced to QUIZ in 1980
and joined Quasar in 1981 just after QUICK was released (I was a beta
tester).

Tracy claims ...

>Ahh, but Quasar didn't have Quick did it?

Sure it did. Quick 3.02 ran on our 48 in the Quasar account.

I still have a couple of copies of the grey spiral bound manual with the
picture of the manual and a keyboard on the cover. Nice bit of recursion
that -- a picture of the manual showing a picture of the manual showing a
picture of the manual ... a bit deceptive since recursion is something PH
has never been too good at! Both copies have 1982 Quasar copyright by
notices printed in them but one has a sticker covering the printed copyright
notice to change it to Cognos. And the Quasar contact info on the back cover
has a big Cognos sticker pasted over it too.

Feeling old,
