I'm assuming that you meant 7.10G since there isn't any 7.2 on OpenVMS.
However, the information can be found on page 252 of the 7.10 QTP manual (at
least in the version I have.) The section is the Processing Phases in QTP,
Sort Phase. It discusses the use of VMS Sort. You can redirect the files
using two methods. If you want to redirect all work files, modify the
logical sys$scratch to point to the location where you want them put. If
you want to redirect just one or more of the sort work files, create a
logical for these files redirecting them to the location you have space.

Subject: Temp File SUBWORK1 in QTP in VMS environment
Powerhouse version 7.2G
OpenVMS
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to redirect the device/directory in
which QTP creates what I believe is a temporary workfile named SUBWORK1?
(We could not find a reference to this file in our QTP manual.)
Does the file always get created in the user's default directory? Or does
it get created in the directory that was set as the default prior to calling
QTP?
Our QTP is executed in batch by submitting a .COM file. I'm thinking that
perhaps a set default statement prior to calling QTP would result in the
SUBWORK1 file being allocated in the chosen default. Can someone confirm
that?
Thanks
