Question on QKGO in combination with auto=

This lack of MPE style file equations is rather tedious. One would think
that an operating system from the sixties would have this by now ;)

I do note, however, that MF Cobol has an animal similar - setenv dd_TP1
"../db/MEMBER" in a script, and then cobrun a program with SELECT INFILE
ASSIGN TO "TP1". In it, and the program opens a file called
../db/MEMBER.

I'm not sure if it's part of MF Cobol, or some secret script that
performs the function, but it does work.

Perhaps Cognos will add this or something similar?

Regards

Neil

As I noted in my original mail, that does not appear to work in
the UNIX implementation (HP-UX).
Using the "quick auto=<screen name>.qkc" construct demonstrably causes
PHouse to ignore both the QKGO environment variable, and the qkgo.qkg in
the working directory (procloc) and fall back on the default
configuration.
