Qdesign - Sorting Question

We operate in a HP-Ux (10.2) environment. What I would do in a case like
that is call a Quiz report.
We set an environment variable for the print file, to put it to disc - if
you are in MPE a temporary file is ideal, then we run the Quiz report,
producing a disc file. Then we use the system utility more to present the
info on the user's screen. Then we give the user the option to send the
report to the printer, which we can do conveniently as it is in a disc file.
I'm not sure any more what MPE has for a utility to list to the user's
screen - there should be something that could be used.
Alternatively, this is the hard way to do it, a person could write a subfile
using quiz or qtp, sorted into the right order. Then you would have to have
a sub-screen that read the records off of the subfile (assuming your version
of Quick will read subfiles).

Not really because of how it links to other detail sets and master sets. I
might be able to add an automatic master by last name but I was hopping to
avoid this.

Catherine,
If you just need one new sequence, you could add a new index on the last
name (+ first name + ID#, maybe) fields.
Is that an option for you?
