Richard and David,
We use SOQ (Save Output Que) from Generic Software, Inc. to perform some
of those kinds of
functions. It copies que to que, deletes and so on.
thanks again for your input.

Richard and George,
We use the DLTOLDSPLF utility, from TAATOOLS, to do this every night. I
think IBM OS/400 may have it's own version of this, now.

David and George
We don't bother doing anything . . . Our log files all go to an output
queue
(defined in the job desciption) and sit there until either released to
the
printer or, more often, deleted. There may be something in the PH setup
on
the machine that controls this - it certainly isn't in any of the user
profiles or job descriptions.
We find the log files for our big, multi request, QTP's invaluable when
things go wrong and tend to keep them for between a week and a month.
Must
automate the cleanup one day ! !
cheers
Richard

George,
We use the following statement in the CL program, prior to most of our
QTP
calls:
OVRDBF FILE(STDOUT) TOFILE(QTEMP/QTJUNK)
and the following statement prior to most of our QUIZ calls:
OVRDBF FILE(STDOUT) TOFILE(QTEMP/QZJUNK)
to prevent spooling out the statistics information from QTP and QUIZ.
We use the following CL statement when we want to spool the output to an
output queue not connected to a printer
CHGJOB OUTQ(*CURLIB/outquename)

This is PH 6.07 on an AS/400.
I execute the following from a CL:
QTP AUTO(ABBPHSRC/PHQTSRC P5743007) STATSOPT(NOSTATISTICS)
BANNEROPT(NOBANNER)
LISTOPT(NOLIST) ERRLIST(ABBPHSRC/QZQUE)
I still get a 'sort of' statistics page even though the statsopt is set
to
NOstatistics. It includes our default header set up in the System
Options
of PDL and the Run/Request lines - the actual statistics don't appear as
such but what you see below does.
11/07/02 ABB Flexible Automation Inc. Page 1
Run: run name or (Run: 1)
Request: req name
When I run the above command from the command line it behaves as it
should
by providing nothing. I have the Nostatistics set statement in the
program
as well. I'm working with trying to change the Outq from within the job
but
I was hoping there was a simpler way.
I'd like to save a tree here and prevent this page from printing. Any
ideas?
Thanks,
George
