Oh, and one other thing.  PowerHouse will NEVER be sustained as a long term
development tool in any large scale (as compared with other tools such as
Java, C++, CoBOL, etc) until we have many good quality and popular portable
applications written in it!

Companies are loath to spend the money on license fees and support for PH
when it is seen as JUST as development tool.  They can say Java, C++, even
Oracle Forms is much cheaper.  However the same people are happy to pay the
license costs if the language is required for an application they want.

E.g.  Visibility is a good application written in PowerHouse.  However it is
being replaced in many companies with Oracle Manufacturing.  The license for
OM is twice that of Vis.  yet the companies will pay for it as they see it
as a desirable acquisition for business reasons.  But if they were choosing
a development tool for in-house applications they will chose those with low
up-front purchase costs and support and is seen as "up-to-date".
