Impromptu error message

Can someone explain what the following message means and how I can
troubleshoot my Impromptu report to find the offending column?:

           ORA-01468:  a predicate may reference only one outer-joined
table.

I have a file that I select one record from.  I have two other files that
are ailased multiple times to the one record file.  All aliased files are
related with an outer join to the one record file so I can retrieve the data
in the one record file if there is no matching data in some of the aliased
files.
