Scott,

If you're on the HP3000, you can do the following:

Command me: file qsholist=testit;dev=disc;rec=-132,,f,ascii;save
Command me: qshow

Q S H O W (7.29.C8) Level 999
Copyright 1997 COGNOS INCORPORATED

> set device printer
> show record member
> exit

END OF PROGRAM
Command me: lf testit
ACCOUNT=  AIHDEVEL    GROUP=  SHUGARTP

FILENAME CODE ------------LOGICAL RECORD----------- ----SPACE----
SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX

TESTIT 133B FAC 102 16146493 1 512 2 *

You can then transfer the disc file to Word for further formatting.

HTH,

I need to port a copy of our data dictionary to a WORD Document for a report
on HIPAA compliance verification.

Is there a way I can use QSHOW in some kind of batch process dump the data
to a file?

I would normally just use the PDL files used to compile the data dictionary,
but, I need it formatted for non-programmers to reference, so the formatting
helps.
