Hi
If you are looking for alternatives, let me tell you about two products
which we use to develop solutions for our clients:
* SoftOptions: This product primarily allows you to create a GUI front end
to your existing text legacy system (we use it to cover up a PowerHouse
application, a DBL 3GL application, a 3rd party Text based application and
also give a united front to both the 3rd Party Text and DBL applications
(one on a Unix server and the other a VMS server) at the same time without
the user having any knowledge of this.) In addition to this it will allow
you to integrate into your desktop environment (i.e. links to Office
products, automated e-mails etc...)
* SoftOptions Platforma: This is basically very similar to the above, except
it has a 'server' component to provide browser access for either web or
intranet access.
We found these tools more cost effective than Reflections...
If you require any further information let me know...

Yes please, more info.
We'd be interested in an attractively priced alternative to Axiant / PHweb,
in order to deploy our VMS PH screens via a browser.

For what it's worth, we did a cursory look at AXIANT. Like most of you, we
desired a way to put a GUI on "green screens" and also allow access over
Internet/Intranet. We chose J-Walk from Seagull. It requires no change to
underlying Quick screens and can be deployed through emulation to Windows
workstations and with very little modification to the Web. J-Walk is fairly
easy to learn and use. The only drawback is that it is really designed to
work with RPG DSPF files which PowerHouse doesn't generate. As a result,
you have to manually "identify" your screens, but I have found that to be
only a minor problem.
Anyone desiring more info, just contact me.
Also, we are currently testing 6.07f on OS/400 V5.1 and there seem to be no
problems.
