Extracting data from a PHD

Robert Mills points to a serious limitation in QSHOW output. We had a
similar request a few weeks ago. I directed the output from QSHOW to a disk
file and one of the Oracle DBAs wrote a Visual Basic script to reformat the
output. I will try to get more information.

Several years ago, in a different job, I developed some code to navigate
through a QSCHEMAC file outside of QSHOW. It was a project that I did not
quite finish, unfortunately. As I recall, information was stored in the
QSCHEMAC by record types with linkages based on relative record numbers. I
should imagine that the method for PHD files is similar. I spent a lot of
time using FCOPY;HEX;CHAR <grin>
