Compaq and Intel

Well, it appears that Compaq and Intel have caught us all off-guard with
this morning's announcement, as we had absolutely no advanced warning of
this.

Consequently all that I can say at the moment is that we will very carefully
review the roadmap plans that Compaq and Intel have announced today -- which
will see their entire enterprise server line (including OpenVMS, Tru64 UNIX,
NonStop Kernel, Linux, and Windows Datacenter Server) move to the Intel/HP
IA64 Itanium architecture by 2004 -- and plan our strategy for the Cognos
ADT products on Compaq's operating systems accordingly.

All I can say for now is, "Watch this space!"

For full details of the announcement, see the Compaq web site at:
http://www.compaq.com/hps/ipf-enterprise/index.html

Best regards,
Conrad

G'day Conrad

How do you think this will affect Cognos' direction on the ADT tools?
