  This is going to sound rather sarcastic, but if I were you, I would only consider Oracle on HPUX. I've used it , its ok. I still prefer Interbase, but thats as you know does'nt really matter now.

I say don't consider anything else, not because of technical reasons, but simply, everywhere you are going to go it is Oracle Oracle Oracle.  You boss, and up to the CEO, likely only know that the db in use in the market is Oracle. The trade rags they read says Oracle.
Their ceo buddies use ORacle.  They don't want to bet their career on anything but. Oracle's marketing machine is in full swing (Imagine they would have us believe they saved 1 billion using their own ERP, I can't help but wonder if they calculated the the cost of the DBs, personnel, software etc..what an outrageous and stupid claim!)

So what if its slow.
So what if it costs more.
So what if you need an army of people to look after it.

Get it, get it quick.
