Accented Characters

If you set ASCII8 in your dictionary and make sure that your terminal
setting allows for 8-bit entry (SET TERM/EIGHTBIT) this should allow data
entry of accented characters. You may need to put your own character set
with full accents into the dictionary. I'm not sure what affect it will
have on sorting of data.

Subject: Accented Characters
We are running Powerhouse 7.10 g1 on VMS and are about to take on a European
customer with lots of data which uses accented characters. Our dictionary is
set-up for the standard English character set but I would be interested to
know if you can change this to a global setting which will allow entry of
French, German, Spanish and English characters. Also, if you do change it,
are there any issues for which we should be aware. It is important we are
able to enter accented characters but also search for then within a string
(i.e. a title).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Jim
