Make a keyed subfile ... HA ! You guys that aren't on an AS/400 are sooo
spoiled !

I still dream of the days long gone ... when I coded on a VAX and had index
subfiles at my disposal .... Mmmmm the good'ol days.

Make a keyed subfile and append record for the array.

Subject: Linkage Using Array Item?

Hi,

In QTP, I am trying to link a subfile to a detail dataset in a TurboImage
database. Sounds simple, but the data element that I have to link on is
part of an array. PowerHouse can't create the linkage using the array
item. Does anybody have a workaround for this?

> ACCESS *SFSC2001 LINK OLD-SC TO ED-OPT-20 OF EQUIP-DET
*E* Item ED-OPT-20 of record EQUIP-DET is an array. Items of a key/index
can't
be arrays.

I also tried explicitly naming the array occurrence, but PowerHouse doesn't
like that either...

> ACCESS *SFSC2001 LINK OLD-SC TO ED-OPT-20(1) OF EQUIP-DET
                                           ^
*E* Expected: , OF @ . IN ALIAS OPTIONAL LINK AND <eol>
*E* The file ED-OPT-20 was not found.
*E* There is more than one key/index to file ED-OPT-20. Please specify.

PH 7.09.E1 - MPE/iX.

Thanks much,
Terry
