Yes, but the whole point of my e-mail was because on the AS400, I was able
to drop and load record formats, instead of doing the whole dictionary. I'm
asking if 8.20D has the same flexibility because I may not want to recompile
the whole dictionary. But from the responses I've received, I see that 8.20D
is not so flexible.
Thanks everyone for your response....
Regards....Odette

  Hi Odette,

Use Qshow (with PH7.10) to generate a dictionary script. Use "Generate
All" The output will be written to QSHOGEN.PDL
This is the PDL source for your dictionary. You can make any changes in
there.
The to recompile the dictionary use PDL.

You can't generate separate record definitions. You can only generate a
full PDL source.

Sounds like a dumb question but anyways: In PH7.10F2 we were able to
maintain the dictionary via a screen. How do you maintain the dictionary in
version 8.20D now that the screen is no longer available? I'd like to
unload a record definition from the dictionary and reload it with the
enhancements. Can someone please tell me how this is possible with the
version on an Alpha system?
    Thanks!
