Powerhouse/openVMS compatibility

I would be very surprised if there was any problem compiling PowerHouse
programs on VMS 7.2 and deploying them on VMS 5.5 - it's not as though
you're generating native code. Providing that the PowerHouse system
executables themselves run OK, which they obviously do, I shouldn't think
they know or care which version of VMS the q%c files where generated under.

But correct me if I'm wrong!

I have stumbled across few issues around the powerhouse compatibility with
different versions of VMS.

Currently Powerhouse version 710e is no longer supported by Cognos.
They would not comment on whether 710e would compile under Open VMS v.7.2-1.


In our configuration we are running Powerhouse 710e on VAX under OpenVMS
v5.5-2
				   Powerhouse 710e on Alpha under OpenVMS
v6.2-1H2

We are compiling the programs on Appha under OpenVMS v6.2-1H2 and deploy on
VAX under  OpenVMS v5.5-2
We are planning to upgrade Alpha environment to OpenVMS v7.2-1.
Has anybody in the Powerhouse world  compiled 710e under v7.2-1. and run it
on VAX under  OpenVMS v5.5-2 ?
And if so, has it worked ok?
