George,

We have been using the AS400 for almost 10 years now. To print more than
132 characters you must create a printer file.

To do this use the following command at the operating system.
crtprtf file(qusrsys/NAME) text("SOME DESCRIPTION") pagesize(66 198) cpi(15)
ctlchar(*fcfc) aut(*all)

That will create a printerfile that is 66 lines long and 198 characters
wide.

>From quiz, you must use the following:
set report device printer printerfile NAME

NAME is the name you used above when creating the printerfile.

Hope that helps.

Steve

Listland is really quiet this week. I hope everyone is enjoying their time
off.
I will be off for a few days to come as well but thought I'd put my question
out
there now for people to see as they start to drift back to work and into the
old
routines.

I'm on the AS/400 - let's get that clear up front as I've never had this
problem
on
other platforms. I'm printing to a newer HP printer (laser 4100tn) on which
I
print
in excess of 132 characters from other sources. When I print reports from
Quiz
though I can't seem to get beyond 132. Other reports from our AS/400 JDE
ERP
system also print reports wider than 132 and from the same Queue as well.
My
set statements are there in the source, etc. It sounds like I'm missing a
piece
of
the puzzle somewhere. Can someone please tell me where?

Thanks in advance for you help.

George
