I am on the AS400 platform, but have 20 years experience with powerhouse on the HP3000 platform also.  What a let down going from the HP version to the AS400 version.  Anyway, it has been my experience that in addition to setting the page width with a set statement, you also need to do an OVRPRTF file command for PHPRT prior to running QUIZ.  The page width is defined as 132 for PHPRT (the printer file for quiz).

OVRPRTF FILE(PHPRT) PAGESIZE(*N nnn)    nnn = your page width.
