If you are on the HP3000 platform and file3 is a single-record file, I am
surprised you are not linking to RECORD 0. I do not believe that RECORD 1
will work.

Plz elaborate following code :

ACCESS   file1
LINK Item1 VIAINDEX index1 TO file2
LINK TO RECORD 1 OF file3.

file3 is single record file and it contains no items which match with the
items in file1.
