PowerHouse 8.30C on OpenVMS Released

Hello all. 

Cognos is pleased to announce the availability of PowerHouse 4GL 8.30C for
Compaq's ever-reliable OpenVMS operating system, running on both the current
AlphaServer and older VAX hardware. This is the first PowerHouse Series 8
release recommended by Cognos as an upgrade path for customers currently
using PowerHouse 4GL 7.10G, or earlier, on their OpenVMS systems.
PowerHouse 4GL 8.30C includes OpenVMS-specific features from version 7.10
that our customers told us they need in order to successfully
upgrade...including PHD data dictionaries, the POW dictionary maintenance
application, OpenVMS Mailbox support, the FORMATNUMBER function, and VMSDATE
datatype support, together with Sitehook and Trusted Mode support.

All OpenVMS-based PowerHouse customers with current support and maintenance
contracts at the time of release are eligible to receive this new software
simply by requesting it through Cognos Customer Support. In addition, the
PowerHouse Books 3rd Edition CD-ROM, covering PowerHouse 4GL 8.30 for
OpenVMS (as well as PowerHouse 4GL 8.39 for MPE/iX), is provided with the
software and can also be downloaded from the Cognos web site - simply go to
www.cognos.com/openvms and follow the Documentation link.
