Quiz problem (QDUMP)

Hi Pat,

Fatal Error 870 occurs when Quiz is trying to write create a subfile where
the name is already used by the Operating System. For example, the file
already exists in a non-subfile format, or is used in a file equation to
point to a non-subfile.  

Do you still have the MUM100F9 file on the system from when you were
creating a portable subfile (MUM100F9 will be an ascii file - the
mini-dictionary for your portable subfile)?  Or do you have another file
with this name?  Purge the existing file or give the subfile in your Quiz
job a new name to resolve the problem.

Listers,

We're having a strange problem occur with a Quiz routine: It will
sporadically run in a job, and always interactively. We're on version
7.29.C8 on a brand new HP e3000-979, MPEi/X version 6.5.

The routine has been run any number of ways in a job and almost always fails
with the same error message.

Originally, the subfile statement had a PORTABLE on it  -- it was going to
another system and the author wanted to convert numerics to ASCII. Now,
we're just trying to get it to work.

Any thoughts by anyone????
