Screen updates field immediately instead of tabbing to next f ield

Hello Paul,

It sounds as though the FIELD in question has the AUTONEXT option specified
(which accounts for 2-digit values automatically causing the entered value
to be accepted while single-digit values do not) and that either it is the
last field to be prompted for and the SCREEN has the AUTOUPDATE option
specified, or buried somewhere in one of the procedures (maybe the EDIT or
PROCESS) for the FIELD in question there is a PUT to the data file.

Hope this at least gives you some pointers on where to start looking.

Hello folks,

our development environment is Axiant 4Gl version 2.03 for a VMS.
The problem I am encountering is where I need to change a field on a
multiple entry screen. The field accepts all numerics between 1 and 52. If I
enter the value 4 I can tab to the next entry field. If however I enter any
number between 10 and 52 the entry is accepted, the record is updated
immediately and the cursor returns the the command line.

As this can occur on line 9 of the screen and the users have to tab to that
line again to finish input the are beginning to grumble. Has anybody any
idea how to fix this bug please?
