PowerHouse and ODBC drivers - case sensitivity

G'day all
We have been wasting our time getting PowerHouse 8.21D4 to work with three
different ODBC drivers in system (Windows NT 4sp6). The drivers are MS SQL
Server, CONNX 8.01 (RMS) and HitODBC 400 (DB/400). We eventually got PH to
work ok with all the drivers but we found out these idiosyncrasies:
1. MS SQL Server 7.0 - case of ODBC reference in the PDC must match EXACTLY
with the definition in the ODBC Data Sources and you should have these
sources defined in BOTH the user and system DSN windows. We found that
sometimes just the system DSN definition would work and sometimes it
wouldn't but the user DSN definition always worked. Problem is, other
software (e.g. Impromptu) requires the system DSN so you have to have both
definitions.
2. CONNX - case of ODBC reference in the PDC must match EXACTLY with the
definition in the ODBC Data Sources and but you only need these sources
defined the system DSN window. User DSN won't work.
3. HitODBC - case of ODBC reference in the PDC doesn't matter. However the
case of the library references does. Only upper case worked for me. Like
CONNX the definition in the ODBC Data Sources and but you only need these
sources defined the system DSN window. User DSN won't work.
I hope my hair grows back soon!
