So would that be an indirect reference to the fact that Cognos doesn't
appear to use Pine anywhere in their operation?
On other notes, I get the impression that there are several on this list
who are either sarcastic or don't like the Pine Email client. To them I
say: Pine does what I want, doesn't execute ActiveX or Javascript
automatically without asking, is faster than GUI and is all around my
favorite of the few console-based, runs on unix/Linux Email clients I've
tried. The Pine box I write from now is actually made from several Pine
boards, though mysteriously, the boards seem to come and go as they please
as people read their Email and go on to other things. This all while
others in the box compile Java drinks like nobody's business. Either this
is a large Pine box or we just use our Pine boxes
efficiently. Fortunately, we don't have to bury our Pine boxes ever since
they usually short out and die rather than croak under the strain of an
ever bloating OS and software load.
Fortunately for our Linux running computer, Linux isn't Unix(tm), so I suppose
we aren't necessarily beating the tar out of it, though I suppose it mostly
just lacks the certification for that.
The message does get me to thinking of another operating system that is
almost completely idiot "feature"... ...but I digress.
Enjoy your Wednesday all, though it appears that some of us are almost done
with their work day... :) (Though I look further down the page and I wonder
if Matt Ohmes is in North America at the moment...)
