Upgrading to PH 8.13, 8.23

Current environment:
AIX 4.2.1
PH 7.33D3
Oracle 7.3.4.5

We wanted to upgrade Oracle to 8.0.5 but had problems with PH 7.33D3.
Cognos told us that
we need to upgrade to PH 8 in order to use Oracle 8.  We tried but couln't
even
update a record in the database (it crashed).

It took 1 year to solve the problem.  Cognos support told me it's a problem
with Oracle and 
the fact that we use french characters in the database (character set
WE8ISO8859P1).  And
as I understant it, it was more difficult to solve on AIX than on other
Unix.  Now we are on
the process of testing our applications with PH 8.13D3 and Oracle 8.1.5.
Cognos support sent
us a special built of PH 8.13D3.
