How to refer to summary items

I posted a clear and complete answer on this at 9am on Fri 10 Mar, then
yesterday grumbled at Leonard for not reading it.

Well now I have to apologise to Leonard, and anyone else who I offended,
because the list seems to have mulled it over until midnight last night before
passing it on.

Anyone know why my message stalled for nearly 5 days before getting delivered ?
It wasn't a problem here - other traffic has been fine.

For anyone who's still unclear on averages in subfiles, _DON'T_ use them. They
don't work. For why, see 'How Quiz writes items to subfiles' under the SET
SUBFILE statement in the Quiz manual (p516 of my VMS 7.10 edition).
