The Handbook is still in print. It has not been updated for series 8 for two
reasons. First, I haven't had time (yes I take the blame for the handbook,
so if there's anything wrong, let me know). Second, the differences between
7 and 8 weren't major in terms of syntax (except for OpenVMS). The plan is
to upgrade the Handbook for version 8.3x along with the manual CD.

To follow up my own post on manuals, I suppose the handbook (a more
reasonable
180 pages) would be sufficient for most syntactic queries, with
machine-readable reference manuals for the detail.

Is the handbook still published in paper form, or is it deleted too ?

Sorry to be so negative, but that's how I feel dealing with Cognos UK.
